2 tsp. cumin seeds, roasted and ground
1 walnut sized tamarind
¾ litre pints water
1 ½ tbsp. brown sugar or jaggery
¼ tsp. pepper
10-15 mint leaves
2 tsp. salt
Soak tamarind in ¼ litre of water for 2 minutes.
If using jaggery, put in 8.5 ml of water to soak. Leave for one hour.
Strain tamarind mixture through a cloth squeezing well to extract a thick juice.
Add the sugar to jaggery, pepper, mint leaves and salt. Add rest of the water.
